A career spanning engineering, science education and academic research, now focused on the philosophy of science and mathematics education.
Fouad Shami is a lecturer on the philosophy of science at academic institutions and in teacher training programs. Early in his career, he studied for a practical engineer's degree at "Yad-Natan" and completed pedagogical training for engineers to teach at the Technion, Haifa.
A science teacher since 1976, he earned a B.Sc. in general sciences from Albany University in New York, and served as a supervisor in the Israeli Education System. He also completed a B.A. in Philosophy and Education from Haifa University.
He began doctoral studies in education at Oxford Brookes University in 1999, and completed his doctorate in educational philosophy at the University of Cluj in 2002. He later specialized in Philosophy of Science and Rationalism at Haifa University in 2012.
He is currently researching at the Technion in the field of mathematical education, on method, theory and analogy teaching through a graphic perspective.

A proposal for a new way of teaching mathematics and science through a graphic perspective, using graphic construction to solve mathematical problems and to open multidisciplinary paths of thinking for teachers.

An essay examining reincarnation as it appears across religions and civilizations, drawing a close parallel between the law of the soul's eternity in faith and the law of conservation of energy in physics.
